When You Desperately Want to Give Up

When You Desperately Want to Give Up
What happens when you want to give up — but you keep on going in spite of your feelings?
The answer is… it depends.
But more often than not, good things happen.
Take Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas, for example.
At age 14, she left her home in Virginia Beach and moved to Des Moines, Iowa, to get better training.
She left her mother and sisters behind.
She was alone.
The training was physically and emotionally demanding.
Gabby got homesick. At times she wanted to give up the dream and go back home to be with her family.
But she didn’t.
She stuck with it.
The result?
Gabby helped the U.S. female gymnasts — nicknamed “The Fierce Five” — take the team gold at the London Olympics.
Even better, Gabby won gold in the individual all-around competition.
She is the first African-American gymnast to become the individual all-around champion, and the first American gymnast to win gold in both the individual and team all-around competitions.
And that’s what’s possible when you don’t give up and you keep pushing for your dreams:
Success.
